It was Smoke for the win in Dover this weekend and boy was he hot. And by hot I don't mean in his fire suit. As a journalist I understand the right facts are crucial, but at the same time Mr. Stewart you need to relax a little, put  your feet up, and stop being so dang angry! Whew, ok glad that is off my chest. Let's talk about what is really important, the Road Tour Team lol. Heather and I were missing Gannon this weekend because he had it off, but we held our own with the eager Dover crowd.  On Friday I was able to take to the midway and interview fans for the new blog on FoxSports.com "Shake And Bake." You will be surprised as to how many people couldn't answer "What track is known as the Monster Mile?" Let's just blame it on the beer and hot weather shall we? We had special guests JJ Yeley and Marcos Ambrose on "Trackside." Have you seen JJ's impression of Tosh.O? It is pretty amazingly hilarious. My first weekend in Charlotte has been hot, humid, rainy, but honestly a lot of fun. The Road Tour Team killed the pre-show performance right before the three hour Raceday. Talladega Nights! Oh what an experience! For a second I wasn't sure if I was in fact at the famous Alabama track or if I ended up on Bourbon Street during Marti Gras. I saw lot's of drinking, bead throwing and yes.. some old saggy saggy boobs. But the crowds were amazing and once the rain cleared up we were ready for some hard core racing! Toto, I may not be in Kansas anymore but boy did I have fun! The Kansas fans were
warm and welcoming which was really helpful since I was solo this week. I had the opportunity to head to the campgrounds and participate in Fox's new blog called Shake and Bake and did a segment called "Speed-Walking." It is along the same lines as Jay Leno's "Jay-Walking." I had a number of NASCAR trivia questions to ask the campers. If they didn't know the answer I hoped to God they gave me something funny to work with. I asked one guy,"What is a lucky dog?" His response... "the fella who gets to take you to dinner tonight darlin!" Needless to say, I died. Check out some photos from my Kansas trip. Check back in after Richmond!
